New Construction Communities Guide: Tampa Bay’s Best New Homes for Snowbirds & Retirees
Thinking about a brand-new home in Tampa Bay? These days, “new construction” often means resort-style lagoons, walking trails, and full villages built right in. So here is a quick guide to some of the area’s best new communities, especially for snowbirds and retirees moving from out of state.
Two Rivers – Zephyrhills, FL
Two Rivers sits along the Hillsborough River in Zephyrhills. It offers new single-family homes surrounded by nature, with easy access to I-75. Read the full guide: Two Rivers: New Construction Homes in Zephyrhills, FL.
Angeline – Land O’ Lakes, FL
Angeline is one of the fastest-growing communities in Land O’ Lakes. It features a future AdventHealth hospital campus, top-rated schools, and homes from several national builders. Learn more: Angeline: New Construction Homes in Land O’ Lakes, FL.
Mirada – San Antonio, FL
Mirada is home to one of the largest man-made lagoons in the country. Because of that, it draws buyers who want a beach lifestyle without leaving Pasco County. See the details: Mirada Lagoon: New Homes in San Antonio, FL.
Epperson – Wesley Chapel, FL
Epperson was Pasco County’s first lagoon community, and it is still one of the most popular. Its 7-acre Crystal Lagoon lets residents swim, paddleboard, and even ride a lazy river. Builders here include DR Horton, DRB Homes, and BB Living, with prices starting in the high $200s. As a result, Epperson works well for buyers at many budget levels.
A Few More Worth a Look
Tampa Bay has no shortage of new-construction options. For example, Bexley in Land O’ Lakes offers active-adult and family sections with a BMX pump track and a retail hub. Waterset in Apollo Beach has a resort-style pool and a splash park. Connerton, also in Land O’ Lakes, even has its own on-site elementary school. So there is a fit for nearly every stage of life.
Let’s Find the Right Fit for You
Every one of these communities offers something different. So the best next step is a simple conversation about your goals, budget, and timeline. You can also explore Best Places to Visit in Tampa Bay to get a feel for the area before you decide where to settle.

Best Places to Visit in Tampa Bay: A Guide for New Residents
Moving to Tampa Bay is not just about finding the right home. It is also about discovering a new place to call your own. So once you are settled, here are a few spots worth exploring first.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Busch Gardens sits at 10165 N McKinley Drive in Tampa. It blends thrill rides with one of North America’s largest zoos, home to over 200 animal species. Coasters like Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt draw thrill seekers. But the park also offers safari-style animal encounters for a slower pace. Seasonal events, like Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town, bring people back all year long.
The Tampa Riverwalk
The Riverwalk is a 2.4-mile path along the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. Along the way, you will find the Florida Aquarium, the Tampa Museum of Art, and the Glazer Children’s Museum. You can also paddle a water bike, ride the Pirate Water Taxi, or just walk and take in the view. When you get hungry, waterfront spots like Ulele serve up local Florida flavor.
Clearwater Beach
Clearwater Beach is one of the most popular Gulf beaches in the Tampa Bay area. Its white sand and calm, clear water make it an easy favorite for families and retirees alike. It is also a short drive from many of the neighborhoods I work in, including Odessa and Lutz.
Ybor City
Ybor City is Tampa’s historic Cuban and cigar-making district. Brick streets and wrought-iron balconies give it a distinct character you will not find elsewhere in Tampa Bay. Today, it is known for its restaurants, nightlife, and cultural festivals, alongside its deep immigrant history.
Explore First, Then Decide Where to Live
Every neighborhood in Tampa Bay has its own personality. That is true whether you are looking in New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Odessa, or Lutz. Spending a weekend exploring these spots can help you get a real feel for the area before you commit to a home.

Mirada Lagoon: New Homes in San Antonio, FL
Picture a 15-acre lagoon with sandy beaches, right in your own neighborhood. That is the centerpiece of Mirada, a master-planned community in San Antonio, FL. It sits in Pasco County, close to Tampa, St. Petersburg, and the Gulf beaches. So if resort-style living sounds appealing, keep reading.
The Lagoon, Up Close
Mirada’s signature feature is its 15-plus acre MetroLagoon. It offers clear water, sandy beaches, and room for swimming, kayaking, and simply relaxing. Because it sits at the heart of the community, most homes are just a short walk or golf-cart ride away.
Homes for Every Stage of Life
Ten builders are active in Mirada. They include D.R. Horton, Lennar, Ryan Homes, Dream Finders Homes, Homes by WestBay, Maronda Homes, DRB Homes, Casa Fresca Homes, LGI Homes, and Ascend Mirada. Prices start from the $200s, with many homes from the low $300s. Mirada also has a dedicated 55+ active adult section, complete with its own clubhouse. That makes it a strong option for retirees who still want an active, social lifestyle.
Modern Comforts, Built In
Every home in Mirada includes ULTRAFi high-speed internet and Streetleaf solar streetlights. Smart home technology comes standard too. Add in a gated entry, a dog park, walking and biking trails, and a tot lot, and the community works well for retirees, snowbirds, and young families alike.
Why Out-of-State Buyers Love It
New construction means no surprise repairs waiting for you. A resort-style lagoon means you get a vacation feeling every day, not just once a year. And because ten builders compete here, you can compare floor plans and pricing without leaving the community.
Thinking About Mirada From Out of State?
I moved to the United States myself a few years ago, so I understand what it is like to choose a home in an unfamiliar place. I help buyers from other states, and other countries, through builder contracts, financing questions, and closing, often before they see the community in person.

Angeline: New Construction Homes in Land O’ Lakes, FL
Land O’ Lakes is one of my favorite areas to serve. And Angeline is quickly becoming one of its most talked-about communities. It is a large, master-planned neighborhood built for modern Florida living. So if you are relocating from another state, it is worth a close look.
A Big Community With Room to Grow
Angeline covers more than 6,200 acres in Land O’ Lakes, FL. That is part of the Tampa area I know well. Because it is so large, the community is divided into six distinct neighborhoods. Each one offers a different home size and price point.
Homes for Every Budget
Lennar, D.R. Horton, and Dream Finders Homes all build here. Because of that, you have real choice. The Villas start from the $240,800s. The Manors start from the $305,490s. The Estates start from the $322,490s. The Grand Estates start from the $426,990s, and the Grand Executives from the $461,490s. Home sizes range from two to six bedrooms, so there is something for a downsizing retiree and a growing family alike.
Green Space and Healthcare, Side by Side
Angeline sets aside 3,600 acres of green space. On top of that, it offers up to 100 miles of trails. There is also a working community farm and a lagoon for residents to enjoy. Perhaps most notably, Angeline is home to Moffitt Cancer Center’s new Speros FL campus. For retirees and families thinking long-term about healthcare access, that is a real advantage.
A Good Fit for Snowbirds and Retirees
New construction means fewer surprises and lower upkeep. That matters if you are buying a second home or settling down after years elsewhere. With multiple builders and price points in one community, you can compare options without driving all over Tampa Bay.
Relocating? Let’s Make It Easy.
I moved to the United States myself a few years ago, so I understand the process of settling into a new place. I help out-of-state and international buyers through every step, from builder contracts to closing, often before they ever see the lot in person.

Two Rivers: New Construction Homes in Zephyrhills, FL
Are you thinking about leaving the snow behind for good? Or maybe you just want a warm winter home. Either way, Two Rivers may be worth a look. It is one of Tampa Bay’s newest master-planned communities. And it sits close to everything Florida living is known for.
Where Is Two Rivers?
Two Rivers sits in Zephyrhills, FL, just north of Tampa. You will find it off State Road 56, between Morris Bridge Road and Highway 301. That puts it within easy reach of New Tampa and Wesley Chapel, two areas I know well. From here, Tampa International Airport is a manageable drive. So are the Gulf beaches.
New Construction, Many Builders
Eleven builders are active in Two Rivers. Because of that, you get real choice. Options include one-story and two-story homes, townhomes, and villas. Prices start in the mid-$300s and go past $1 million. Some gated villages add extra privacy too, which many retirees appreciate.
Amenities Built Around Nature
Two Rivers is surrounded by cypress groves, trails, and grasslands. There is also a community pool. Two lifestyle hubs, called The Landing and The Nest, give residents places to gather and relax outdoors. So if you want a slower pace without giving up community, this fits well.
Why Snowbirds and Retirees Are Looking Here
New construction means lower maintenance. That matters if you are downsizing or buying a second home from out of state. Single-story and villa floor plans are easy to live in long-term. And because eleven builders compete for your business here, you can compare styles and prices in one visit.
Buying From Out of State? I Can Help.
I moved to the United States myself a few years ago. So I understand what it feels like to buy a home in a place you do not know yet. I can walk you through new construction contracts, builder incentives, and closing timelines remotely. Video calls, e-signatures, and virtual tours make it possible to buy with confidence before you ever set foot on the lot.

Hindu Temples of Tampa Bay: A Guide for the Local Indian Community
Tampa Bay has grown into a true home for the Telugu and broader Indian community. Maybe you have lived here for decades. Or maybe you are just settling into a new home in New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Odessa, or Lutz. Either way, staying connected to faith and community makes a place feel like home. Here is a guide to some of the Hindu temples and community organizations serving families across Tampa Bay.
Hindu Temple of Florida – Tampa
The Hindu Temple of Florida sits at 5509 Lynn Road in Tampa, FL 33624. It has served the community since 1983. In 1996, the current temple building was consecrated through a traditional Maha Kumbabhishekam ceremony. Artisans from Chennai, India designed and crafted the rajagopuram, or temple tower. As a result, the temple has striking, authentic architecture. Throughout the year, the temple observes major festivals, including Shivaratri, Vaikunda Ekadasi, Ganesha Chaturthi, Navaratri, Janmashtami, and Deepavali. It is open daily. Weekday hours are 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM and 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. On weekends, hours run 9:30 AM – 9:00 PM.
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir – Tampa (Thonotosassa)
Just northeast of Tampa, at 9556 E. Fowler Avenue in Thonotosassa, sits the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. It is part of the global BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha network. In fact, it is one of the most active Hindu temples in the Bay area. The mandir hosts regular satsang assemblies, festivals, and cultural programs. Because of its decades of community service, the City of Tampa has formally recognized BAPS North America.
ISKCON Radha Krishna Mandir – Lutz
Families in Lutz have a welcoming option nearby too. The ISKCON Radha Krishna Mandir, at 14610 N 17th St, offers worship, kirtan, and community gatherings rooted in Krishna consciousness. Better still, it sits right in one of the neighborhoods I am proud to serve.
Shri Saraswati Devi Mandir – Lutz
Also in Lutz, at 16220 Livingston Avenue, the Shri Saraswati Devi Mandir gives local families another close-to-home option. Here, you can pray and connect with the community.
More Temples Around Tampa
A few more temples serve the greater Tampa area. These include the Ayyappa Society of Tampa (6829 Maple Lane), Laxmi Narayan Mandir (4615 George Rd), and Shiv Mandir (2001 N. Howard Ave). Each one has its own community and tradition worth exploring.
Worth the Drive: Shirdi Sai Florida Center
Are you a devotee of Sai Baba? Then consider the Shirdi Sai Florida Center in Inverness, at 4707 S. Pleasant Grove Road. It sits about 85 miles north of Tampa. That is not exactly Tampa Bay, but it is close enough that many local families make the trip. Established in 1997, the center offers four daily prayer services, Thursday abhishekam, and Sunday chanting. It also hosts festivals like Ram Navami and Yugadi throughout the year.
Cultural & Community Organizations
Faith is only part of what keeps our community connected. For example, the Telugu Association of Florida – Tampa Bay (TAF) brings Telugu-speaking families together year-round. Members connect, share, and celebrate through cultural events and an active community calendar. So if you are Telugu or Indian-American and new to the area, groups like TAF are a great way to build friendships fast.
Community and Home, Together
For many families, being close to a temple and a familiar community matters just as much as the home itself. This is true whether you are relocating to Tampa Bay or simply moving within it. Are you considering a move to New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Odessa, or Lutz? Or anywhere else in the Tampa Bay area? Either way, I would be glad to help you find a home that keeps you close to the people, places, and traditions that matter most to you.

Beyond real estate, I stay active in the community too. I am a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) with the Carrollwood Toastmasters Club, part of Toastmasters International. I am also a lifelong cricket player. In fact, I stay connected to Tampa Bay’s cricket scene through clubs like the International Cricket Association of Tampa (ICAT) and the Tampa Cricket League, plus I follow the game worldwide through the International Cricket Council (ICC). And because I lived and worked in Kuwait for many years, I also speak Arabic fluently, along with English, Telugu, and Hindi. So whichever language is most comfortable for you, I am happy to talk real estate in it.
